FS#2271 - Unpredictable Crashing on Mac M1 Arm64

I am getting random crashing on my MacBook M1 chipset while using QCAD Pro. There is nothing in particular that you can do to replicate as the crashing is completely inconsistent. Have had it crash when pressing escape while using measurement tool, but have also had it crash while using the app and selecting a tool.

Included crash report, which has also been sent to Apple.

Thanks

Thanks for your report. Unfortunately, that's not much to go on.

I'd suggest to try the Intel binary instead and run it under Rosetta 2 if possible.

This looks like a Qt library problem under M1 although I wasn't able to reproduce this yet.

No further feedback from customer. Not reproducible here.

Same problem here. Started with the Intel version. Switched to the ARM Version, but the crashes still occur. The application crashes when it has been in the background for a while and I'm switching back to it.

Mac M1 24"
Qcad version 3.27.3
Mac OS 12.3.1

Thanks for the crash report. This is helpful as it is very similar to the first report. It looks like a Qt library problem. The next release will some with a potential workaround for this bug of Qt under macOS 12.

A (potential) fix is now available (QCAD 3.27.5).

Excellent, thanks.

There are less crashes now, but they still happen every now and then. I added 2 different Crash Reports.

Yet another Crash Report (Crash occured within a minute after starting QCAD, while switching to another application to look something up). I hope the additional info helps...
