FS#2398 - Excessive Autosave
Autosave currently updates the backup file indefinitely regardless of whether the drawing has been modified since the last autosave. Request only update autosave following additional edits since last autosave.

True, but I don't see the issue.
If we edit a drawing object, or add one, Autosave will keep on updating the backup file.
And that until we actually save the drawing.
First remind that 'any change' goes much further than simply editing or adding entities.
E.g.:
- Adding layers or changing the active layer or other layer states.
- Changing the print output.
- Adding views.
- And so on.
In other words, Autosave updates the backup file indefinitely when any change was made and one leaves the document 'as is' for an extended period of time.
IMHO leaving a document unsaved for an extended period is not best practice.
Further, 'Excessive' is by choice, the interval can be set in the Applications Preferences.
