FS#831 - Multiple words of non-english language in Richtext are displayed on above other
Version - 3.1, binary.
If I “Draw text” with text “aaaa bbbb” - it displays correctly, but when I enter “аааа бббб” (with russian keyboard) - I see that “аааа” and “бббб” are displayed one above other - see screenshot.
The same problem is for imported .dxf file with russian texts in it. Problem makes the solution as a whole actually inusable for (at least, some of) russian users.
Unfortunately, this is a known problem with QCAD in combination with Qt 4.8.x.
To avoid this issue, QCAD would have to be compiled against Qt 4.7.4 instead.
For future releases, we might revert to Qt 4.7.4 on all platform. Currently, only the Windows package uses Qt 4.7.4.
QCAD is the only Qt application with this kind of behavior on Qt 4.8 or not?
That is entirely possible. Text rendering in the QCAD graphics view works differently from text rendering in the GUI.
Found solution for Qt 4.8 (text painter paths require additional transformation, see https://github.com/qcad/qcad/commit/51ae0e84e3f79533cd82d73aeae92528e70dcb6d
