Hi !
im’ trying the 3.12.4.0 base version, on linux mint x64 and i have found a problem in printing/exporting..

To replicate the bug:
Try to draw a simple form, for ex a circle, and draw a center of this circle using POINT function.

Now if you make a print preview, then CENTER the circle in the page and try to export to pdf or print, the circle and the POINT (center) are ofsetted !!

i have try to make the same operation with 3.9.5 and i have no problem !!!

Case:
Drawing with Viewport,
in Model Space - launch Print Preview - Paper size and display ok,
change directly to Paper_Space - Paper size and display ok,
switch back to Model Space - Paper size ok but the Paper display looks infinitive big ...

Print Preview off/on or launching/canceling Drawing Preferences will solve the display issue.

In print preview mode I click the button for drawing preferences.
I go to Printing: Page and change the offset for x,y in the viewport.
Then apply but the page has not moved and the autozoom still redirects to the old position.
When I redraw the window through the window manager or quit and reopen the printpreview the page has moved to it spot.

Open Drawing
Switch to model space
File > Print Preview
Edit > Drawing Preferences > Printing > Page: change paper size, scale, etc.
Preferences cannot be applied to model space

Print Preview:
Black and white/Greyscale mode doesn’t works on Text.

Case: Launch Print preview (first time), confirm dialog “Auto fit drawing to paper?” with yes, change after that the scale, close Print Preview, launch Print Preview - the last chosen scale what should be remembered is overwritten by the Auto fit scale.

Note:
The Auto fit scale stays persistent - even after reloading the drawing!

The option “Auto fit drawing to paper?” as a dialog occurs only the first time you use Print Preview - there is no way to change the chosen option later in a session or after reloading the drawing ...

Case: My last “Print preview” setting was “Multiple Pages” = 4
QCAD will remember this setting until I change it.

If I then - maybe days later - start a “Print current view” out of my drawing then QCAD will show me the current view on ONE page. Exactly what I expected. If I start the print QCAD will print on FOUR pages regarding to the last “Print preview” setting. Not what I was looking for ....

Now knowing what will happen I launch “Print current view”, see my current view on ONE page, launch the “Drawing preferences”, see that FOUR is the number for pages, doesn’t change anything and cancel the dialog. NOW I can see that FOUR pages are used for the current view print.

That is confusing and it would be nice to have somehow more control over this behavior.

Windows XP, QCAD Pro 3.9.4.0 (3.9.4)
Multi-page drawing, 3 columns on american tabloid landscape (11 inch x 17 inch).
Current view is top right quadrant of page 2, Print current view prints top left quadrant of all 3 pages. Last full print was all 3 pages in full.

Load drawing
Switch to print preview
Ctrl-P / XD have no effect

Take any random drawing (as far as I can tell), select (at least) one object, then export to PDF. The “highlight attribute” (for lack of a better word) of the object will unexpectedly be exported.

Offset shown in print preview does not match offset on paper / in PDF file.

Only prints on A4 size paper, no matter what settings, print or pdf export, print from model or from layout block

In the attached .dxf file is a simple drawing (a wooden deck). In the layout space (of A3 size) there are two viewports (one of the frames and one with the decking).

In the left viewport a spurious enlarged part of the block “stolpe” (eng. column) has appeared in the exported PDF (not visible in either the layout nor the model space). See attached .PDF where it is clearly visible.

So it seems that the interaction of blocks with viewport triggers a bug.

Printing / PDF export with crop marks enabled fails with Qt 6 packages macOS on M1/M2/M3.

Crop marks and page tags are not in the correct position.

If the print preview is opened automatically using File > PDF Export, the print preview does not open correctly or is unclosable (script exception).

Configure QCAD to use native file dialogs
Load file
Export file as PDF, SVG, Bitmap
File name suggested by file dialog is drawing file which means user might accidentally overwrite drawing file.

Layer states in DXF/DWG files may contain NULL layers (likely deleted layers). Import fails in these cases.

File > Open should not preselect the dxflib filter but All Files.

Caused by changed order of loading plugins.

A curious fact is occurring here QCad 3.16.5 is aborting the opening of files in 90% of the attempts on a machine with native Linux Mint 18.1 and works normally in a virtual machine under Virtualbox in Windows 10, tests were done on the 3 machines (VM-Linux, Nat-Linux and Win 10) with QCad 3.15.5 and everything works normally. The two notebooks tested have Intel I-7 RAM = 8Gb Ram and 4 processors. Follow 02 files for evaluation.

When a file is opened from “File→Open Recent” on QCad Pro it gives a 100% repeatable crash if the file is on a folder synchronized with Google Drive. If the file is opened using “File→Open” instead it works as expected. See attached crash-log.

OSX specific. Does not happen on Linux with synchronized Google Drive folder

Task:
Drawing - New from Template ...

My Default Template Folder in “Application Preferences” is on F: (USB Port).
QCAD depicts to C:/Programme/QCAD pro 3.1.2/libraries/templates
(Yes - I started QCAD new after adjusting the default Folder)

File > New from template does not show the dialog and shows a spinning wheel instead.

Note: drawing stays “modified” after saving from dialog.

Thin lines are with sub pixel widths are not visible in exported bitmaps.

When exporting a drawing under latest version of QCAD, for whatever reason QCAD ignores all line thicknesses and there is no option to fix it. The error is in BitmapExportWorker.js (line 134). It should read:

view.setHairlineMinimumMode(false);

(currently, it uses “true” instead)

Remember last used settings in bitmap export dialog (width, height, resolution, margin, background color).

The problem is related to PDSIZE being set to 0 which means “5% of drawing area height”.

File > Bitmap Export does not export non-plottable layers.

Exporting a monochrome bitmap with black background produces a black bitmap.

Affects File > Bitmap Export and dwg2bmp.

A margin of 0px can still lead to a margin if width is much larger than height or vice versa.

A file with name of 1234.56.78.0001.00 Something blah blah.dxf will not export to bitmap correctly. The save dialog will suggest filename of 1234.56.78.0001.jpg instead, truncating everything after last dot.

This bug existed in older versions too because of incorrect handling of file names. As a result, at some point File.getSaveFileName incorrectly truncates the extension (which is empty at the time) and replaces it with jpg. Appending a null extension fixes this, though obviously it’s not a correct fix.

Here is a temporary workaround in File.js:

Impossible to obtain an png image, and others too. I am on Linux Mint Serena 64B alias Ubuntu Xenial 16.04. Qcad last release:

File > Bitmap Export raises an exception before the dialog is shown when compiled against Qt 5.

Exception when populating scale combo box

In the Advance SVG Export dialog, when I edit the filename to be different than the default file that already exists and then clear the checkbox for “Overwrite existing file without asking” just to make sure that I haven’t already created a file with the modified name as well, then I get a popup warning that the export would overwrite the default filename, not the name as edited. In other words, the overwrite check ignored the fact that I edited the filename.

Observed on MacOS Mojave (10.14), but probably applies to all.

Example: file name: “my.file.dxf” File - Save As suggests file name: “my.dxf”

This affects only certain KDE installations:
- Fedora 12 with KDE
- Kubuntu 13.04

“Null Object ID” exception when saving a previously loaded file.

File - Print: Print preview button not pressed / print preview cannot be closed with print preview button.

Windows 7-64

Selecting print from Main menu > File > Print - not working.

Print function only working from selecting the Print icon button from within the Print preview stage!

Arcs and circles are exported with too many segments if the drawing scale is below 1.0 (e.g. 1:100).

Import of a block from a file from file - import or its related icon does not place anything on the drawing or add it to the block list.
When you open the command, the import drawing dialog appears as well as the options tool bar. Whether save as block is checked or not, nothing happens and the options tool bar closes when a file name has been selected and open is clicked on the import drawing dialog.

Dragging and dropping a file on the main screen still works

When I export a bitmap from qcad, windows picture preview will not show it, instead print the message: “the file is in use by another application”. Maybe the exporter does not close the file?
