In V3RC3 (on Windows 7 -64)

In property editor lineweights and line types choices are unclear, e.g 0.00mm is reading as ... (3 dots only)

Also the lineweights are reading as m not mm!

Line types are very unclear too!

Changing image path in property editor does not update image

• The drawing given be an argument is loaded correctly but no auto zoom is made, which can be confusing.
• The loaded drawing cannot be closed unless another drawing is loaded.
• Possibly an Linux issue only.

Strange behavior when adding a simple angular dimension between two lines.
Command:dimangular shows in Command window, but there are no prompts displayed to select first line or second line.
If I proceed and select the first , then second, the Dimension Arc Location: prompt appears and the dimension is properly added.

Having practically no experience in scripting, a recorder that one could activate to memorize repetitive tasks (ie: inserting several layers with different attributes when starting a new drawing)would a useful tool to help get a start on scripting.

If text is selected together with an entity or entities, and then scaled, the position of the text relative to the entity is not maintained. The text size does scale correctly.

This means that the (scaled) text has to be moved to the same relative position as before scaling. This does not happen with a couple of other 2D programs I have checked.

Pretty icon for Gnome 3 desktop favorite.. Kind of subjective :)

File - Print: Print preview button not pressed / print preview cannot be closed with print preview button.

Highlight color of entity can match background color, making an entity ‘disappear’ on mouse over.

Make this an option. Default should be no icons since icons are unusual for Mac OS X application menus.

Entities cannot be added to an invisible layer which is intended.

However, it should be allowed to change the layer in the property editor to an invisible layer.

Please explain the possibilities of the “Library Browser” I’m not able to make a new entry (Drawing Sheets)

Dimension: moving label when label is beside dimension line not possible with drag and drop.

I have a dwg file and find the performance very poor when trying to move an entity. QCAD3 beta 3 appears incapable of performing the necessary calculations for the “Auto Snap” when trying to select the reference point (the mouse pointer does not track the path). If Auto Snap is turned off there is no performance issue.

I can provide a problem file (via email) but am unable to upload it to the internet as it is a proprietary drawing.

Text: empty lines do not cause enough line spacing

Text: alignment: simple text starting with spaces or ending in spaces is not aligned correctly.

RC1 is lazy in saving appearance to config. I noticed, because it always started with default window size. Maximizing was not carried over, also the panels were consistently reset.

Only when eg. dragging the handle to change cad-toolbar width not from preferences it would write an “appearance” section to the config file.

The appearance section should be written rather sooner than later.

The Snap “Reference” is perfect working on circles.

I would be nice to have this function also on Arc’s.
There are many necessities to attach a Horizontal or Vertical line on an arc or an “ex circle” (circle after a cut,)rounds etc. in a professional drawing.

It would be useful to have an option in the Circle tools to be able to draw a circle tangent to other entities such as lines/circles etc.

Auto fit to paper fails with some drawings in inches

e.g. Bathroom mod 2.dxf

Default paper might be configured as 210×297 inches if inch is chosen as default unit.

3.0 RC1

The Stretch Tool works only for one task and than you have to reselect it again for the next task.
Who really works with the stretch tool has to use it (often) a couple times consecutively to get the job done.

It was nice working in 2.2.2.0

In RC1 text in PG SVG will be in the wrong location. The position passed from native code to the SvgExporterPG.prototype.exportEntity is wrong:

Instead of the actual place of the text it gets the position of the surrounding block entity, or, for text that is not in a block, “0,0,0”.

Dimension labels are not affected by this. Also HAlign and VAlign are not passed correctly for text in the model-view block.

→ Template is overwritten instead of the “Save As” dialog being shown.

In the “Application Preferences”-menu a click on submenu “Shortcuts and Commands” freeze the application for a view minutes.

Currently lineweights seem to be available up to 2.11mm,how about extending the range for some bigger lineweights!

include() should raise exception if file not found.

This is actually the case but does not seem to work properly.

To change the postfix for dimension.
Situation: New drawing, Dimension in Drawing, Dimension on one Layer. Menu > Select > Select Layer and click on a dimension. Went to Property Editor > Geometry > Label and change the Label in <>”. Nothing happens.

The same procedure with a other kind of selection works and it works also in the 2.2.2.0

After using Line “Relative Angle” or “Line Orthogonal” the Toolbar is in a loop without showing all the Cad tools such as “Modify” “Hatch” etc..
Escape switch only between the “Lines Menu” and the “Select Menu”. To get all Cad Tools back you have to restart QCad.

Drawing preferences / dimension = Fraction

Info Tool, Polygonal Area shows decimal units instead of fractions.

Simple text tool does not create simple text but mtext.
When changed to simple in property editor, position does not work
