Also - when trying to open a drawing edited in qcad3, in qcad2 - it's screwed up the layer names (when they have æøå - ie. danish characters in them) - and also layer colors is suddenly changed.

bug: When trying to edit the text on a 90 degree angle text= "(53 sk. + 57mm)..." - it pops up a QT debugger window instead, saying it can't find element simple text.

Small details

Hi - just downloaded qcad 3 - rc1 - for Linux. 1) When I want to select multiple lines - holding ctrl and clicking on the second (and third etc.) does not add them to the selection as it did with qcad2 :( 2) When in printing preview mode - ctrl+p doesn't work. (I have to select it under file to prin...

I tried to do exactly as Andrew instructed:

- Load the file
- File - Print Preview
- Click "Fit to page" button in tool bar
- Choose scale "1:100"
- File - Print
or
File - PDF Export

And it works now :)

I cannot reproduce the segfault anymore.. :(

Thanks - that helped - but if I enter scale 100:1 it still shows nothing. If I then choose "fit to page" - it shows fine - but the scale is set to 0,0148827 which I can't make heads or tails off. The unit is set to its standard (mm) and the page type is set to a4 210x297mm. The house is 11220mm wide...

Printing does not work

When I select print from qcad (v2.2.2.0) it opens a new "window" with the print preview - and it's just grey and shows me the print dialogue. If I just select print - the printer works for a long time - and then just prints a few lines (looking like some hatch lines exploded up in size) and nothing ...

So basicly - I can't draw something on layer 1 - create a block from it - and copy this - and use the copy on another layer (where layer 1 is hidden)?

"invisible" sub-layering

If I create a layer - with my own drawn blocks - and then create a new layer, and move two of the blocks (using attributes layer change) to the new layer. The two objects disappear, when I hide the new layer. But if I unhide the new layer - and hide the original layer - they also disappear, with the...

I don't recognize such problems. My hatches align up perfectly. I create a new layer (called hatches or something) and mark that. I then trace (using 2point line) the lines I want to hatch - so I have a closed "box". I disable all layers- except the hatch layer - and verify I have the complete, close...

removing layer DIM does not remove it on drawing until later

If I add a door_01 - and then delete DIM (I did this because I didn't know what is was for) - nothing is removed on the drawing. later, when I moved the door object to another layer - the dimensions on the door was gone - probably what the layer named DIM was - but I didn't notice it - since the dim...

all blocks on same layer - how to avoid?

I am drawing my house 3 levels (basement, ground and 1rst floor) in one drawing using layers. I would like to have each levels objects on a seperate layer - but if I add a new object (I tried door_01)- it "disappers" if I "hide" the layer (obj-v) the existing elements are in. This does not happen wi...

I ordered the software+book edition - so I'm looking forward to receiving the book :) IMHO the online manual still should contain good tips - or a comment option, so users could comment on it. IMHO more happy Open Source Users = more users who want to economically support the software. Perhaps you c...

I found it worked as I intuitively thought/hoped it would. I simply mark the "hatches" layer - and then draw new lines on top of the existing construction lines - hiding the construction/elements layer when I need to see if the hatch is complete. Works great and makes it a lot easier. IMHO these two...

Solved - putting the hatch lines on another layer helped tremendously. One problem though. Often the hatch "border-lines" is also lines that is part of the construction - and thus should not be ONLY on the "hatch" layer - but also on the construction layer. I figure I could put a "hatch-border-line"...
