Re: templates

You're welcome. Most templates provided by QCAD itself or as a download from this forum are meant as a (hopefully) good stating point for the customer but to 99% they have to be modified for the individual needs. The problem is no matter how I open templates they appear in both model and paper space...

Re: templates

Hello Jose, Open drawing or open using template and with provided templates. A QCAD template is based on a common drawing. Telling QCAD where to find it and how to open it makes it to a template which then will be used as the starting point for a new drawing. The new drawing is then a copy of that c...

Re: upgrade to pro

In ACAD I could work in viewport and would change in model space. I assume with Qcad I cannot do this after playing around some? Thanks Correct - that isn't possible in the current QCAD Pro version. Anyway in my opinion that isn't the idea behind a "Viewport. Just my two cents ... But - if y...

When I load a template it seems grayed/ not clear except when I ask print?
The QCAD Community Edition (Freeware) has no Template function. Please elaborate a bit more the problem and if possible provide screenshots / Template dxf. Thanks.

Re: "Save As" problem in Windows 10

The problem seems to be with the "Save As" function. No, I don't think that has anything to do with QCAD! As everybody knows - Windows is vulnerable and MS implemented over the time more and more safety levels to protect folders and files. In Win10 (not only!) you have folders which need a second c...

QCAD3.ini swappable between Win and Mac?

Hi,

a friend of mine likes to test QCAD for his shop. He has a Mac - I'm on Win 10/64. I'll help him with the first QCAD steps and I'm wondering if I could use mine Win10 qcad3.ini on his Mac system. Would that work ... trouble free?

Re: What does "View->Display Distance/Angle" do?

The title says it all. I'm wondering what this feature is supposed to do. Category and tool name says it all. It displays the distance and the angle at the mouse pointer. Husky-2018.07.07-02.png Nothing happens when I select it ... If there is no distance and/or angle which can be displayed ...

Just tried it on an older 3.19.2 installation on a different windows 10 PC. It works, I can store new shortcuts.
Yep - same here!
Win10/64 - QCAD Pro 3.21.1.0 will not save changed shortcuts. :(
Older QCAD Pro Version are working flawless.

Edit: Andrew was faster ... :D

Re: Help with drawing a slotted shape....

Hi Grogster, I might have worked this one out..... Draw two semi-curcular arcs of the right size, and join them together with short straight lines. Forgive me. I'm a newbie.... That should work. Anyway, there is never only one single solution - it depends always on the situation itself ...

Re: Thanks and 'Morphing' question

This makes me think that morph should also support lines, arcs, circles, etc. keeping the entity type if possible (i.e. circle -> circle, line -> line, ellipse -> ellipse, etc.). Good idea - that would help a lot to eliminate a lot of construction steps. I played already with lines which are conver...

Re: Thanks and 'Morphing' question

Thanks Andrew.

My biggest mistake was to start playing around with the Morph tool to explore a few possibility's. It's a kind of addictive, isn't it?.....

Re: Thanks and 'Morphing' question

Uiuiuiui - that new tool will open again a lot of doors. Thank you!

Playing around with the morphing tool I found out that not only the direction of the polyline is important but also the start point.
Is there an easy rule of thumb how to control the outcome regarding the start point?
