Re: Pocketing letters

Hello PUIQ - welcome to the QCAD Forum, that looks challenging. 8) Maybe there is a reason why they mostly use single line fonts for 4 mm (?) text. Here are my thoughts. I you are talking about a milling process then I doubt that you will find a milling cutter which is able to create a clean ...

Re: Lost files..........again.

Hi Jim0000, that looks not like a QCAD Problem. The file isn't in the expected location which means the file is deleted or moved. Questions: Which OS are you on? Crashed QCAD or the OS before that happened? Why is that an "Import" message and not an "Open" message? Is the file in the recycling bin? ...

Hello Jerry - welcome to the QCAD Forum. Thanks also for introducing yourself - interesting website. Howsoever - as always there are multiple possibility's to accomplish that task. Re: text issue

@Relic

I would check the file with the actual (3.21.2) QCAD Trial Version to see how it behaves. Use a separate directory for that test installation. A free trial can be found below: https://www.qcad.org/de/qcad-downloads-trial

Re: Insertion point library parts

Hi, when you create a Block / Library Item QCAD will ask you for a Reference Point for this item. Now is the moment to choose a Reference Point which will work best for you. For the best accuracy use the QCAD Snap tools to determine the Reference Point. Husky-2018.09.07-04.png When you later insert ...

Re: grid spacing

I have not done a good job of explaining the issue. Let me try again. You have done a good job in explaining the issue. That is the reason why I was able to analyze the problem. I have changed all the drawing preferences to metric. Sorry but no you haven't. As already stated the problem is based in...

Re: grid spacing

Thanks for the drawing. The issue is - Despite with all the settings set to mm, the scale at the top and sides of the screen remain shown as ft and inches. Yep - because your Dimension settings are not correct: Please change this ... Husky-2018.09.05-01.png ... to this - maybe you have to select Dec...

Re: dimensions do not agree with measurements

Two first thoughs on that:

1. Are your dimension precision settings correct?

2. Is your dim scale set to 1"=1"?

If that doesn't solves the issue please attache or PM the drawing. Thanks.

Re: grid spacing

Hi Caster,

could you please post an example drawing what should have the new metric settings but launches still with imperial units.
Just launch a new QCAD drawing - save it and attach it to this post. Thanks.
