Re: Slow Processing, Too Many Entities?

I can confirm that the performance of QCAD is lower for such complex drawings. We are constantly looking into ways to improving this, but if you need a solution for larger, complex drawings now, QCAD might not be the right choice. It simply wasn't designed for this kind of drawings.

Re: QCad changed a dimension figure unasked

The best thing to do is to mark the thread as "solved" by changing the title of the first post to "[solved] Title...".

This way users can see that this thread contains the solution to the mentioned problem.

Re: New here. Not sure where to post this question.

Thanks for your kind feedback. I'm glad to hear QCAD/CAM is useful for you. As an aside, I would like to see a "description" field in the profile dialog that would be added to the code as a comment. Perhaps, you can use the toolpath name for this. It's available to postprocessors as the variable [TO...

Re: Linienbreite "Standard"

Die Standard / Default Linienbreite wird in QCAD nicht verwendet. Sie ist nur vorhanden aus Kompatibilitätsgründen um zu vermeiden, dass die Zeichnung beim Laden verändert werden muss.

Re: Scaling selection by mouse

Perhaps the Modify > Align Reference Points tool is more what you are looking for. It won't do non-uniform scaling either, but "maps" two reference points to two target points. Scaling by mouse is always uniform (since we only define one factor by mouse). The factor is the ratio between the two dist...

Re: ordinate dimension origin

Is there any way to set the 0,0 point of an ordinate dimension other than moving all entities? Yes, you can select the ordinate dimension and drag and drop it's origin to another coordinate or use the property editor to change the property Origin X/Y . Both methods work for a single or multiple ord...

Re: FlexPainter beta 0.34

I tend to use qDebug("..."); rather than debugger statements, especially with dialogs. The debugger can change the order in which events are processed and even lead to crashes. Feel free to PM the sources and I will have a look. That would have to wait till next week though.

Re: Create auxiliary lines

The important thing to realise is that construction lines are just ordinary entities in QCAD. The only thing that makes them construction lines is the fact that you know they are intended as construction lines. To visualise that, place them on a separate layer and give that layer a colour that is di...

Almost there. Click one of the line tool (whichever is appropriate), then you'll see the options toolbar:
