Re: updates

Presumably, your drawings reside in a folder somewhere in your home directory (for example "/Users/name/drawings" or similar). QCAD is installed under /Applications/QCAD.app or similar. If so, which version(s) of QCAD you have or have not installed won't affect your drawing files at all. I...

Re: cutter offset path not exported in g-code

If I'm right, can I influence myself the preprocessor for LinuxCNC and correct it? Yes. The post processor is in your QCAD/CAM installation directory under postprocessors , for example LinuxCNCMM.js . It's an ECMAScript ("JavaScript") file. If you can attach an example file that works wit...

Re: Feature Request: Textbox inside padding

Unfortunately, I don't think padding exists in DXF/DWG which means if QCAD implements this, drawings would look different when opened in any other DXF/DWG application.

Re: cutter offset path not exported in g-code

You've chosen a postprocessor that uses G41/G42 for cutter radius compensation. This means that your controller will calculate the offset (if it supports G41/G42 at all). If your controller does not support G41/G42, you need to choose a postprocessor that exports the offset coordinates instead (e.g....

Re: BUILDING REPORTS

Welcome to the QCAD Forum! I am hoping that I can either access a library of these features or create one. You can certainly create your own library. You can simply safe those files into any folder of your choice and drag them in from there (e.g. from Windows Explorer or macOS Finder). Alternatively...

Re: Images and pdfs .... again

If you're on macOS or Linux, you might want to "print" to PDF instead, using the PDF export of the operating system instead of the Qt PDF export under File > PDF Export. That might make a difference.

Re: library folder

Best practice is to create a folder in your home directory and configure QCAD to use that under

Re: Remove text from DXF/DWG files - command line tool/script

For the general structure of a command line tool in QCAD, please refer to the included merge tool: Batch file (Windows): https://github.com/qcad/qcad/blob/master/merge.bat Bash file (macOS, Linux): https://github.com/qcad/qcad/blob/master/merge ECMAScript Implementation: https://github.com/qcad/qcad...

Re: Regexes in selection filter

So does that mean it can only be "trusted" to be accurate on non-formatted text? It means you can use it not only to look for visible text, but also to look for formatting inside text (which is a good thing  and an important feature). Think selection of all texts containing subscrip...

Re: Regexes in selection filter

The regular expression is applied to the source of the text, not only the visible part.

The sources of your (formatted) text entities are:

\H0.125;123ABC
\H0.125;123
\H0.125;ABC123
\H0.125;ABC

The H0 bit matches your regexp.

Re: JS Scripts with link to url don't work in KDE

This is likely related to Qt / KDE and not QCAD specific. You might want to search for Qt / qdesktopservices / KDE.

Re: Dimension text size and arrow for imported drawings, way too small.

QCAD uses a single set of parameters to compute dimension entities. These parameters are used as stored in the DXF/DWG file. There are currently no plans to change this behaviour as this works well if the file contains the correct parameters. You can try importing dimension blocks as interpreted by ...

Hi, I've spent some time on translating QCAD interface in Polish language. Translation is almost finished and I would like to help with QCAD/CAM. I have great experience with CAM software, so I believe I can handle that. Can you add Polish translation in pootle for me? I've added Polish translation...

Re: Remove text from DXF/DWG files - command line tool/script

A command line tool is not included out of the box (but could be created using the script interface with relatively little effort). A GUI solution would be View > Selection Filter which supports regular expressions (much more powerful but also more complex than wildcards): Screen Shot 2018-01-15 at ...
