How to draw a Clothoide?

Does anyone know how to draw a proper Clothoide (Cornu-Spiral)? I am particularly interested in the 'flat' bit around the origin, say up to 30 degrees, as this is commonly used as transition element in the geometry of road or track design between straights/and or circular arcs. I had a look at the S...

Re: Draw order problem with blocks/library/hatches

@ Andrew - yes, that's what I did. It used to work before (I think), but fine, will do a fresh install. I guess that will remove also all my customisation settings. but ok. @ Husky - I have constructed some more, about 30 derived tiles with cascading blocks, and no further problems found - so the 3....

Re: Draw order problem with blocks/library/hatches

Thanks everyone, and a well deserved coffe, sugar, creamer... I was ready to hit the bottle with the Scottish 'tea' last night! As you said, the issue is clearly with the nested blocks: I don't quite follow your explanation fully for the memory effect from my experiments, but you may be right - conf...

Re: Draw order problem with blocks/library/hatches

Indeed, I played around with the latest trial version, and it looks like version 3.19 can handle this (mostly?) correctly. I'll plow now on with the new version, and we'll see.

Re: Draw order problem with blocks/library/hatches

I can now open the file by replacing the $ACADVER to AC1027. I can insert your file fine, but as soon as I modify it we have again the problem: I added a label with text, you see in the screen shot the label field hatch oblitering the text, and on the base the four notches are also again covered by ...

Draw order problem with blocks/library/hatches

I have extreme frustration with making a library (blocks) of some 100 'tiles' where each of them derive from some base blocks: Fundamentally, it appears that the draw order of the elements gets messed up, particularly where hatches are concerned. Here the details : The 'Library Edit' snap shot below...

Re: Arc in the Wrong Place

Ok I understand, that seems eminently sensible. I approach this in my program to get first the start and end angle of the visible arc section, then segment that into sufficiently detailed sub-intervals along the arc's periphery, calculate for those points xy's separately, and convert with them the a...

Re: Complex Linetypes Missing?

Well, sorry to argue it's even more bizarre, look at this: In modelview: The lower horizontal line is a ZigZag from x=0 to x=254, scaling linetype with 100 - it's showing up niecely. The upper line is a ZigZag from 0 to 255, scaling linetype with 100 - showing up as contimuous line - if you scale to...

Re: Complex Linetypes Missing?

Andrew, after fresh install on another machine (win7) I might have found the answer (user error). Can you please confirm that a) complex linetypes will NOT show up on screen in normal or draft mode, or even when you have screen-based linetypes enabled (which shows some? of the dashes) b)complex line...

Re: Complex Linetypes Missing?

I am afraid I am not.
1) Start qcad 3.8.1 (as downloaded - nothing changed)
2) put simple line on untitled1
3) change in properties linetype to zigzag

that's it - but it does not show up!

Thought: possible interference from older, still installed versions of QCAD?

Arc in the Wrong Place

As I had record viewings on my earlier topic (Circle does not fit[solved]) but no answer to my latest addition for a couple of weeks can I ask for some help please by creating a new topic? If this cannot be solved I will go away and shut up (promise). So, the issue simply is that arcs with very larg...
