dxf to motion control

Searched for 'motion control' and got this thread, will start new thread if need be, cheers.
Working on cnc, g-code is PITA, want to go straight from dxf to motion. Any advice?

What I was looking for in particular was not a gl type app but a way of being able to specify a height for layers and possibly to be able to use any 2 of 3 axis, to be able to work on X and Z for instance then flip to Y and Z. In my case its for CNC work and if it could be coupled to a g-code genera...

Throwing in another 4c for these 2, configurable hotkeys or, if it can be done with scripting, a brief howto would be a nice feature and tabs for open documents would be great. I'll throw in my 2c for transparent entities, especially fills. It would be very usefull here. Logged in with a couple of suggestions and another one kind of fits in here, configuring entities to be above or below others. That's kind of heading towards the big '3d' question though so I'll start anot...
