I am using Qcad 2.2.2.0 Prof with newly upgraded Ubuntu 11.04. When I try to open a file, Qcad crashes and I get the Ubuntu login sequence again (window requesting user name and password.)
I did not have this problem with the same version of Qcad with Ubuntu 10.10.
Thanks in anticipation

Printer problems with Intrepid 8.10 AMD 64 bit
I have just installed Ubuntu 8.10 having been using 8.04 LTS. Computer processor is a 64 bit AMD with 1 GB main memory. Main reason for the upgrade was to overcome printing problems with Qcad 2.2.2.0 Professional. Background: In 8.04 Administration->Printing showed two printers, Deskjet 9300 and PDF...

Inserts and Layers

I have two templates, one for imperial measurements, the other for metric measurements. Each template...

As a postscript, I hope that the solution to my problem helps other Ubuntu 8.04 LTS users, as many who have upgraded from the previous release, Ubuntu 7, may now be having the same problem. For me, the professional version of Qcad worked just fine with Ubuntu 7 on an AMD 64 bit processor without req...

Andrew, Thanks for the prompt reply. Here are the results of carrying out your suggestions: 0. I uninstalled the free version of Qcad and installed from the tarball of 2.2.1.0 1. There is no directory with the name ~/.config/RibbonSoft. A search (including hidden and backup files) reveals no file na...

Qcad Professional Installation With Ubuntu 8.04 LTS
I have QCAD Professional 2.2.1.0-1-prof.linux.x86. It ran OK with Ubuntu 7. I repartitioned my disks, giving more space to Linux, and installed Ubuntu 8.04 LTS from a CD-ROM. This was a fresh install, wiping everything that was there from the previous version of Ubuntu. I then untarred and unzipped ...

Thanks
Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
That fixed the problem.
Did I do something stupid to have caused the problem in the first place?

Qcad Prof 2.2.1.0 greys out on startup
Ubuntu 7.1 + Qcad Professional 2.2.1.0. System has worked OK as I became familiar with it. However today I get these symptoms: 1. Qcad window is larger than the computer screen. In particular, the command line disappears below the bottom edge of screen. 2. The Qcad window greys out and buttons at to...
