It would be great if this could be developed because there are not many, if any, linux .svg to .dwg converters. Converting .svg to .dxf is available through Inkscape but is NOT ideal when working with firms who are standardized on .dwg. I would be happy to volunteer with grunt work or graphics on th...

SVG import
Just to let you know, I created a simple SVG file in Inkscape, checked that I could import it into Scribus, and imported it into Qcad3, but the result was just a blank page.

Re: Pages, paperspace and viewports in AutoCad
How to insert drawings? There is no menu "import". The way that I know is: copy and paste or save it in the library of objects and to insert the object. Yes, I create blocks. Either I create the block and then copy and paste the drawing into the empty block, or I set my library path to the folder wi...

Pages, paperspace and viewports in AutoCad
"Pages" in AutoCad are called "Paper space", as opposed to "Model space" which is the "workspace" in which one draws at 1:1. Paperspace is similar to the "print>preview" window in Qcad, with the additional feature of being able to assemble a number of "Viewports" onto one sheet. Each viewports can b...

block behaviour
Thank you, This works for colour and probably line weight, but not for line type (eg. dash, dot, continuous). It is probably a bug. There are subtle differences on the attribute window between what appears for colour / linewidth and line style that may be clue as to why it does not work for line typ...

Drawing preference paper size units
I just noticed that in the global preference, paper size selection is always shown as mm. However, the actual paper size is the global unit. For example, if global unit is inches, and cultom paper size is 2h x 3w, then the print preview shows a print area 2" h x 3" w. However, the preference shows t...

block behaviour
I would like to suggest that in future revisions, there be a behaviour option, to display blocks either in the layer hey are drawn in the block, or in the layer they are placed on the drawing. I do architectural plans, and at present i have to have multiple versions of the same block drawn on differe...

Creating a custom library
I have created a custom library of blocks and arranged the blocks into folders inside the Qcad/library directory. The library explorer finds the blocks and creates the images in home/.Qcad . However, when I click "Insert", nothing happens. The RibbonSoft library works just fine, block insert just fi...
