So to summarise I think its a printer set up issue with "print to file" -in other words you need to set a default printer to use with print to file, either your standard printer or a PDF printer (cups etc.). Hope this makes sense :D It does make sense so I changed the default printer to PDF, reboot...

Yes -"print to file" is using your cups pdf printer - I`m sure. So I think cups pdf is working OK because you stated in your first post -"when I print to a file (pdf) I am able to read the pdf drawing with the Linux document viewer". So I`m thinking the problem lies between your outputted PDF from ...

Re: print to pdf problem

I am using the PDF printer installed in mint. But initially I used the "print to file" option in the qcad print dialog. I have been doing some experimenting -testing both and it seems that the pdf printer installed in mint is working at least part or the time. but it seems that the "print to file" ...

Maybe you are using Linux, so one thing you can do is to convert a True Type Font in cxf format using ttf2cxf (please refer to this topic ). Since I was unable to find a binary for ttf2cxf, I downloaded the source code here <ftp://ribbonsoft.com/archives/ttf2cxf/ttf2cxf-0.0.0.1-src.tar.gz> but can'...
