Thanks for your reply Andrew I understood that the concept of "scale" was only relevant to printing, so I am slightly confused. Anyhow - leaving that aside - I have been working on a 12m long building drawing - hence the 1 meter units which are most appropriate. So is it unreasonable to want to draw...

Hi J-J Thanks for your reply. Maybe this is something specific to the Linux version. I will install it in a different Linux installation just to check it's not something to do with this one. Cherrs, Barry EDIT I just tried this in the latest Mandriva Cooker and it's the same - anyone able to confirm...

Trim not always working

Could someone please tell me if this is a bug, or why trim fails in this simple example? EDIT http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n287/barjac_2006/qcadbox.jpg Draw the outer box using the box tool and then draw parallel lines inside each side. Try to trim the inner large square with either trim or tr...

Wish list item

When using typed dimensions (as in parallel lines etc.) it often happens that the same dimensions are needed over and over in a drawing, but not one after the other. It would be handy to have a recently used drop down list available on the dimension box in addition to the "last entry" memory as it i...

You can do what you want by selecting the block in your drawing. Copy the selection. 'Edit->Copy' Open a new drawing. Paste the block into the new drawing, and move it's reference point to the red cross. Explode the block (by selecting it then 'Modify->Explode') Then save it to your library as whate...

>>Move a widget on top of another widget to combine the two into a tabbed set of widgets. Neat! >>This is unlikely to happen. Pity - since Mandriva is one of the major distributions. One other point - the "restrict horizontally" and "restrict vertically" buttons have the tooltips reversed. The one l...

Thanks Andrew The hatch problem was a scaling one. I had tried various scales but in the end it needed .005 which I had not been near, so the hatch (concrete chippings) were about a screen width apart and not visible. The manuals still have steps 2 and 3 transposed which don't help! The block edit p...

Hatch, block edit, screen layout and manual - (Resolved)

I recently purchased qCad and have found it excellent in most respects, however I am having a few problems. 1&4. When I try to use the hatch feature with a pattern, nothing is added to the drawing irrespective of scale. The log says "Hatch created successfully." The solid fill works fine if I ignore...

Thanks.
A link directly to the FAQ in the software help menu would be good - especially the demo.
I am new to Linux, so a more detailed installation procedure in the help would have been useful or even a README in the package.
I will try the free version again - maybe a similar problem.

Dimension labels missing and help crashes program

I recently tried to use the free Linux version on Mandriva Spring 2008.1 but after several hours struggling I realized that it was just so buggy that it was unusable. I then downloaded the Pro demo with the intention of purchasing a license (after uninstalling the other version) and it performs bett...
