Re: Radial lines on a circle.

Something like this? Husky-2020.03.16-01.png ... repeat that line every 1/4 inch on the circumference. 1/4" will not add up ... e_confused Yep exactly what I was looking for. As for not adding up, probably not on a 4" circle, that was just an example. I haven't done the math yet to actually find a ...

Radial lines on a circle.

I don't even know what to search for, so here goes. I want to draw a circle of a fixed diameter. Then I want to draw radial lines from the center of the circle out to the circumference, but I want the distance between each radial line at the circumference to be a fixed distance. So in basic terms, d...

Circle Center Point

Is it possible to draw a circle and have the center point drawn at the same time. When building machines the center point of a circle is pretty important. Right now the only way I know of to actually lock the center point is to draw two lines perpendicular to each other then group them and align hor...

Import from Inkscape (Solved)

I have noticed when I import a drawing from Inkscape, the dimensions are off by factors of several 100s. It seems the Inkscape drawing is imported as mm even thought it is in inches. There is no way to convert it to the correct size except by scaling. The only reason I even know this is that inkscap...

Re: User Template Border HOwTo

Wow, much easier and faster. I like it a lot. The part I was missing was the drawing with block list attached, but nothing actually showing. I downloaded a set of dwg borders (I think in fact they are yours), but everything is already visible so I can't insert a block as they are already inserted. O...

Re: User Template Border HOwTo

With that already maintained knowledge I think you can simplify the process. May I ask you a few basic questions: You are familiar to start your drawing from a QCAD template? I can think of two ways. First from the File menu use "New From Template". the other way is to double click on the template f...

Re: User Template Border HOwTo

Think I understand what you are saying. I do keep the border and the drawing in the same file. I just change the border size to fit the actual drawing. Then when I go to print I scale to the paper size I'm using. That way my drawing is always at 1:1 until I actually print it out. The only issue I ha...

Dynamic Block

I was looking for some wood screw drawings for a project I'm working on and came across something called a dynamic block. It had everything I needed, but I have no idea how to use a "Dynamic Block" Does Qcad Professional support this feature, if so how does one use it?

Thanks.

Re: User Template Border HOwTo

Maybe I am not doing it correctly, but here is my approach. I do an outline of the drawing I am working on. Just rectangles with the approx dimensions of the parts I am going to design. Then open a second drawing with the border and scale it so it is the right size for my drawing. Then just copy and...

Re: User Template Border HOwTo

I feel like a complete dummy. About 1AM today I figured it out. Just selected the template and used the scale tool to scale it to the correct size, which I believe is what everything I read said to do. I think I was confused because every article I read just said to scale, and I was looking for a dr...

User Template Border HOwTo

Ok, I have a drawing. The 1:1 drawing is about 9' by 6'. I want to use one of the template borders for the drawing, but they are either too big or too small to fit. I know there is a simple way to "scale" the border to fit my drawing, but I have not found the way. So, that being said, can anyone tel...

USB Drive

Is there any way to install the linux version of qcad 3.17 on a USB stick? I am running a laptop with small m-sata drive and would like to be able to save my disk space and run qcad off a USB stick.

Thanks.

Re: polyline multiple points from command line

Yep, you are correct and my bad. I had the degree set to 8 but only entered 4 points. Once I set the degree correctly, everything works like a charm. Many thanks! This will save me a lot of time. I use it to "loft" canoes I am building and the spline makes a great lofting tool.

Re: polyline multiple points from command line

Sorry about that. I am using QCAD 3.17.3 running on a Fedora 25 (Linux) platform.
