I probably don't understand you correctly. The text dialog of the text tool should remember the last used settings and suggest them as defaults for new texts. If this is not the case, you most likely have a permission problem in the folder where user preferences are stored. Again, for me to help ef...

QCAD remembers the last used text size. Create one text with the preferred height and all following texts will have that height until you change it again. If this does not solve your problem, please indicate your QCAD version and the platform you are on in your follow up. No, that doesn't solve it....

In a nutshell: 1. File - Open - choose "Font *.cxf) as file format 2. Make sure the block list is shown. 3. Edit blocks / add blocks to edit / add glyphs. Format of block names: [xxxx] A Where 'xxxx' is the hexadecimal Unicode of the glyph and 'A' is the glyph itself (optional). Basic knowledge on ...

"Easy to understand" as in you can probably figure out what glyphs they contain. Each block defines the glyph for a character and the character is present in the font file in plain text. For a capital A of the standard font: [0041] A ... glyph definition ... You do not want to edit these files manu...

The font files are plain text and easy to understand. You can also load font files with QCAD to import the glyphs as blocks. This way you can add new glyphs to a font or change existing glyphs. Do you have any reference for the markup please Andrew? "Easy to understand" .... when you know how? Dave

Default snap value. A nuisance

I've just inserted about 100 small items onto a drawing.

Each time I have to select 'free' (sf) snap value, since the auto
is never right for what I want.

Is there anywhere I can specify what to use for the default?
Nothing showing in the documentation.

The backslash should certainly exist in most fonts (standard, courier, coursive, unicode, ...). The font files are plain text and easy to understand. You can also load font files with QCAD to import the glyphs as blocks. This way you can add new glyphs to a font or change existing glyphs. Also miss...

Yes, the property editor is available in QCAD Professional only. Please note that there is a separate forum for the QCAD community edition. Andrew makes a good salesman :-) Now purchased. Nice tool, nice price. Hopefully I can find the fonts I want too. How to find a font with a specific glyph in i...

You can do this with the property editor: - select all you want to change texts (hopefully you placed them all on one separate layer) - make sure the property editor is displayed (edit - view - toolbars - property editor) - use the property editor to change the text size or any other text attribute...

Mass change of text

I've written quite a bit of text over a drawing which overlays a keyboard
image.

It needs to be larger :-(

Is there any way I can change the font size for multiple small
text entities please
