Re: Still struggling with borders

If you want to work with layouts and viewports, insert the border into the layout block, not into your main drawing (model space). Please refer also to this tutorial: https://qcad.org/en/tutorial-working-with-layout-blocks-and-viewports You can also work without layouts and viewports: https://qcad.o...

Re: script collection for layer config, multiprint, reconcile...

After selecting all elements the menu shows only existing Entities, so its easy to select for example all text und delete it. And no need to search for Points if there are no Points in the drawing. My wish would be to work with a Menu in Selectionfilter of that kind ;-) I've added selection counter...

Re: Importing by drag&drop

File "Cla4.plBaixa.estAct.geom.dxf" would normally be inserted as block "Cla4.plBaixa.estAct.geom". However, the DXF file already contains a block with that exact name. QCAD assumes in this case, that the file should be inserted "as is" without creating a new block. This is by design for the followi...

Re: Extreme newbie question - cannot create any shapes; cannot find preview

Husky: I think it's a simple matter of zooming in alot. Once your screen measures only micrometers across, you get that behaviour when drawing lines with a width of let's say 0.25mm. A line then fills out the whole screen.

Re: Extreme newbie question - cannot create any shapes; cannot find preview

OK. Please do save and attach the file, thanks.

It sounds like you must have either zoomed in a lot or chosen a tiny drawing unit, so that the line weight is now so huge that a single line fills out the entire visible drawing area.

Re: Extreme newbie question - cannot create any shapes; cannot find preview

Not sure what's going on there to be honest. I'd suggest to try resetting your QCAD configuration:

Re: Extreme newbie question - cannot create any shapes; cannot find preview

Might also be worth trying to switch your background to black:
Edit > Application Preferences > Graphics View > Colors > Background > black

Re: Extreme newbie question - cannot create any shapes; cannot find preview

OK. Do you get any warnings when doing the second click? Perhaps your layer is locked? If you cannot solve the problem, please save your file and attach it.

Re: Extreme newbie question - cannot create any shapes; cannot find preview

Make sure to check the option:
Edit > Application Preferences > Graphics View > Appearance > Prevent white on white / black on black display

This way you never end up drawing in white on white or black on black.

Re: Creating a circle to pass through 2 points

In this case, you're looking at Circle from Tangent and 2 Points:
1. Click the top line
2. Click the top right corner
3. Click the bottom left corner

Re: Creating a circle to pass through 2 points

There are an infinite number of circles that satisfy that criteria. Your circle is quite simply not defined. It's impossible to drawing something accurately if you don't quite know what you want to draw... e_confused So that's the problem you'll have to solve first: what do you actually want? Screen...

We're working on improving performance, but the type of files you're working with will not be possible to handle in the near future, so you're definitely looking at another solution.

Unfortunately, QCAD is not designed for files of that complexity, sorry.

Re: Creating a circle to pass through 2 points

A circle is not defined from two points on the circle lines.

You need more constraints, for example:
Circle from three points
Circle from two points and a radius
or
Circle from Tangent and 2 Points if the circle is a tangent to the top line of the rectangle.
