I'm sure you only have to 'read' the manual Stan! ;) :D

BTW, did you know that the expression 'RTFM' is banned on the Ubuntu forums?

Good to have you here! QCad is the bomb! 8)

OT- Solidworks to come to Mac OS X in 2008! (apparently)

Sorry for the OT, but I was told today by Solidworks (March, 2008) that Solidworks will announce this year that SW's has finally been ported to Mac OS X. This is great news for me (as a Solidworks user), but I think that this will also be great news to all those who use qCad on their Macs too- I've ...

Yes- I too was going to mention/ request this.
The new isometric tool is great, but nothing beats a proper grid :D

Yes this is true (for now). I'll have to ask for some change to C3D's SVG import standard ;) :D

I was not referring to lines as in CAD line entities but lines as in SVG line elements. Yes I know it was that you were referring to :) I know that both UGS and Solidworks have been working quite closely together now for a while with Apple (one result is that the former's flagship product NX has be...

Because I started this thread, I'll move over here (from; http://www.ribbonsoft.com/rsforum/viewtopic.php?t=292&start=15) Opening up both SVG files (QCad, and Intaglio) reveals this; QCad; <?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?> <svg width="112mm" height="82mm" viewBox="0 0 112 82" version="1.1" xmln...

A little googling reveals that Cheetah only imports a small subset from SVG, namely only <path/> elements (or spline elements). It ignores all other elements, including lines. Andrew, I think you've missed the point- with the 'lines'; C3D actually does import lines very well. If I draw exactly the ...

2. SVG export is buggy  I was really looking forward to that (even though I only found out yesterday!) I can somehow hardly imagine that. I'm using this here on a daily basis for a book I'm writing. May I ask in what context (with what type of application) you are using this? For exporting int...

Eureka!

Got it working.

It seems that you MUST use Stuffit Expander. I was using some other expander that I had set up because of stability problems with Stuffit.

Sorry for the false alarm folks

Andrew, I presume that the ini file is the same as a preference file?

I trashed the existing preference file, but that had little difference.

I'll throw away the existing build and download/ reinstall it again.

Really annoyingly though, QCad 2.1.6.4 works fine (or appears to anyway) in Windows XP SP2 (running in Bootcamp mode)

Why do us UNIX users always have to face humiliation??

FWIW, I like the new interface/ look.

Now to see if the SVG function works or not.

Hi tj

Are you able to provide a crash log? As this would help Michael and Andrew debug the problem. :D
