A little googling reveals that Cheetah only imports a small subset from SVG, namely only <path/> elements (or spline elements). It ignores all other elements, including lines. Got it working.

It seems that you MUST use Stuffit Expander. I was using some other expander that I had set up because of stability problems with Stuffit.

Andrew, I presume that the ini file is the same as a preference file?

I trashed the existing preference file, but that had little difference.

I'll throw away the existing build and download/ reinstall it again.

Really annoyingly though, QCad 2.1.6.4 works fine (or appears to anyway) in Windows XP SP2 (running in Bootcamp mode)

Why do us UNIX users always have to face humiliation??
