print layout from model and text rendering

Post by ikua » Thu Sep 26, 2024 8:31 pm

Hello!

I had often the issue, that I printed a pdf from a layout block and found the errors in the pdf. So i went back to the drawing, changed the model, loaded the layout block, to the print it. The I found the next error in the pdf so ....

I do not know if it is only my thing but i find erros more easy in the pdf. So it would be great, if there would somehow be a possibility to directly print a layout from the model space without loading it before. Especially when bigger models are really time consuming for the model.

Or is there allready a solution for that?
Also it would be great to have the possibilty to render text in the qcad as paths (faster) but print is as text without changig that in the preferences. So a textrendering option: "Screen path, pdf text"

Hi,

Perhaps this is what you may find useful:
Batch export to PDF from GUI

Standard included under menu Misc .. Import/Export
The keyboard key sequence is 2PF

Latency with Viewports on Layouts can have its origin with hatched areas.
Another issue may sit in highlighting the Viewports and all its clipped content by hovering over it.

Both issues may be partially solved with setting Hatches and/or Viewports on a locked layer.

Hey CVH!

Neede some time to check it out. Especially because i followed the git hub link, and due to fast reading, I did not see, that is allready included.
Does exactly the job.
For future users. If it only prints out a part of the drawing you have to adujust the printing preferences of the drawing, so that ith fits to the layout paper size:
Edit->Drawing Preferences -> Printing -> Page
