Layer list window setup

Last November, there was this suggestion in the french section: http://www.ribbonsoft.com/rsforum/viewt ... =83&t=3137

I thought the idea was interesting, I keep my layer list on the right of the screen, it is a long way for the mouse to click the eye!
Any other comments from anyone on this ergonomic aspect of the layout?

I like the current layout because the eyes and locks are in one column respectively. It's also possible that more columns will be added in the future. IMHO, adding all these columns before the layer name would look very awkward for layer hierarchies because of the different indentations. What do you think?

Sometimes, eye is very far away ! It's not easy to see... the good eye ! ;o)

Perhaps, another idea : alternating gray background ?
