Greetings!
From time to time the subjects of Groups comes up and I am biased, as a bit of a fan. Obviously, Blocks are more useful in many areas but I can see the advantage of Groups in some situations. For instance, you want a note leader arrowhead that is not available you can make one and group it to a line.
and then copy around the drawing.
Anyway, I thought the following link may give you all ideas if QCAD is happy to come to the party! Suggest for inclusion as a tool?

"Groups are slightly more flexible than Polylines, But slightly less useful than Blocks."
"Groups are saved from session to session, but are not transferable between drawings like Blocks are."
"I have always found groups to slow down our drawings and cause corruption."
