How do I change the size of the numbers that show the distance when I encounter a distance?

Hi, and welcome to the QCAD forum.

There are several possibilities for your question.

The info tools can include the taken measurements as Text entities with a specific text height.
Refer to the Options toolbar to see whether they are included and at what height.
The preview has a fix pixel based size.
These are nothing more than plain text and not Dimension entities.
Note that including a measurement may include auxiliary drawing entities.

Dimension tools create Dimension entities according the global Drawing Preferences.
For an existent drawing see menu Edit .. Drawing Preferences .. Dimension .. Dimension Settings.
Instead of changing the size and/or proportions you can also set a larger global Size scale factor.
Changing these preferences will adapt all to most existent Dimensions in the drawing.

This can also be set up for all new drawings.
See similar section under menu Edit .. Application Preferences .. Defaults for New Drawings .. Dimension Settings.
Once created as new, see Drawing Preferences of the current drawing.

The global preferences can be overruled per individual Dimension entity properties.
See Property Editor for a selected or a selection of Dimension entity(ies).
Overruled properties don't adapt to preference changes.
Use 'Remove Style Overrides' (DX) to revert to global Drawing Preferences.

The Property Editor widget also displays sizes and lengths.
The size of text in widgets is kinda fixed for all but you could experiment with a slightly larger User Interface Scale factor.
See menu Edit .. Application Preferences .. General .. User Interface.
A better option would be using a custom Theme with adapted text sizes, see: menu Edit .. Application Preferences .. General .. Theme.
