How do I snap a line to another line with a specific distance?

I'm trying to figure out how to snap a line to another line with the line set to a specific length, in my case 1.750". I have attached the .dxf file I'm working on. The 1.750" line I'm trying to accomplish will start at the end of one line and snap to the top line as seen in my screenshot below.

Hi, and welcome to the QCAD forum.
Please see snapping at a distance:
https://www.ribbonsoft.com/doc/qcad/lat ... ce_en.html
But what you need here is an auxiliary circle with radius 1.750".
Center at "End of this Line".
The required point is where the circle intersects the "Top" line.

Is it possible for you to explain in detail what you mean by "auxiliary circle"?

You don't need a manual construction with an auxiliary circle. Follow the "Usage" steps in the tool description and you get what you are looking for.

Husky,
Snapping at a Distance (SD) is in relation to endpoints of an existent entity.
The red line does not yet exist.
A future intersection point of a non-existent line piece 1.75 long is not a snapping point.

Construct an auxiliary circle R=1.75 with the center at the lower left endpoint of the green entity.
All points at a distance 1.75 are on this (blue) circle.
At two positions the circle intersects with the top green line.
These two intersection points are exactly at a distance of 1.75 from the start point of the red line to construct.
Now it is simply the question of drawing the red line from 2 points, from the start point to the rightmost intersection.
One can delete the auxiliary circle afterwards.
