Hi
How to cancel the blockedit command? When I choose a block in the block list editor for editing, how to cancel all changes and go back to main? Like cancel in edit block in-place.

Re: Blockedit cancel command
Returning to main:
- Top right button of the Block List: 'Return to Main Drawing'
Or
- Shortcut key sequence EM
Or
- Double clicking on 'Model' in the Block List
This excludes Edit Block In-place ... See Options toolbar with that tool.
For the record:
You don't cancel all changes that you made to the Block geometry, you simply swap to Model_Space view.
To undo the changes you just made use Undo (OO) until all is back as it was.
Just the same as basic editing in Model_Space what is also just a Block, a mandatory one.
Edit Block In-place works with an image before and image after and you can revert to the image before or not updating the Block content.

Re: Blockedit cancel command
Thanks for the clarification. I assumed that blockedit and edit in-place work similarly.

Another way of tackling this is:
- Save file
- Block Edit
- Edit the block content but then decide you want to undo all that.
- Revert (To the last saved state)
In short: Save or back up your work on regular intervals.

Re: Blockedit cancel command
I can not replicate this behaviour.Ushavilash wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 7:19 amHey, simply press the Esc key on your keyboard. This will discard any changes made within the block edit session and return you to the main editor.
When a drawing tool is running then ESC is usually handled by the escape event of the tool what is mostly the same as the right mouse button.
Otherwise it is handled by the escape event of DefaultAction what turns your GUI back to neutral.
- Previews are cleared
- Views are re-painted
- The stack of the CAD Tools toolbar is stepped back
- The DefaultAction state is returned to neutral
This does not include undoing actions that took place while editing the Block content.
And it won't swap to the Model_Space or main Block either.
ESC in Edit Block In-place mode does nothing for that tool.
'Cancel' is then a tool option on the Options Toolbar and not associated with a mouse button.
I that mode ESC is handled just the same as mentioned above, it does not affect the in-place editing mode.
