Qcad version: 3.31.1
Operating System: Mac ver: Sequoia
Have a drawing with multiple layers ( a house drawing with layer for landscaping, framing, Lot lines, etc).
Each layer has a different color and a sub layer for Text
I am attempting to move the house, landscaping and framing, each is on a separate layer together on the Plot plan
I highlight all of the entities, execute the Move command, mark the movement point, mark the point to move to and execute.
Program asks if I want to erase the old item, accept with yes.
Items move however all items move to the layer which was selected before the move, all items have now been moved from each individual layer to the one which was marked before the move.
I attempted to make the move from the "0" layer, thinking all would move and stay on their original layer, but the did not work.
HOW TO I MOVE ALL OF THESE ITEM AND HAVE THEM STAY ON THEIR RESPECTIVE LAYERS?

Re: Moving Drawings & Layers
Hi,
On moving there is an option in the Dialog (or on the Option Toolbar) to move all to the current layer ... 'Use current layer and attributes'.
Clear that option so that everything retains its original attributes (Layer - Color - Lineweight and -type).
Highlighted is when you point near an entity (That may look darker when already bright).
> You probably mean 'I select all of the entities'.
Execution of the command with a dialog is hitting the OK button in the dialog.
> You probably mean 'initiate or start the Move/Copy Command'.
After indicating a reference and a target point the dialog is presented to diversify between: Moving - Copying - Copying multiple times.
There is no Yes/No choice ... You acknowledge the dialog with OK or Cancel.
One can Undo (OO) almost every step in the design process in the current QCAD session.
When original attributes details are already lost there is no easy way back in a new session.
Regards,
CVH

MV in combination with a dialog is by preference: See menu Edit .. Application Preferences .. Modify .. Move/Copy.
