HI Folks:
I downloaded some title blocks from the forum here that have "block attributes" defined. They show up nice on my drawing and make it look great, but, I cannot find how to change (edit) the items on the title block - -like the customer name of the sheet etc
Can someone either explain it to me, or point me to an up to date explanation of how its done?
Thanks
TIM

Re: How do I use a title block with attributes
Hi,
There are 3 ways to specify a new content for Block Attributes.
On inserting a Block Reference based on a Block with Block Attribute definitions there is a dropdown list on the Option Toolbar.
Before placing the Block Reference define a value for each Block Attribute to create.
A bit clumsy for an extended list of Block Attributes.
When already inserted with default values, select the Block Reference and scroll down in the Property Editor.
The Block Attributes are listed under 'Dependent Entities' and can be edited there.
Depending an Application Preference one can select each Block Attribute separately to edit its content.
See menu Edit .. Application Preferences .. Graphics View .. Behavior .. Blocks .. Select block references together with attributes.
Clear this preference to select/edit Block Attributes individually.
Title and border blocks are typically inserted on a Layout block. (e.g. .../QCAD/examples/flange.dxf see block: 'Layout')
A title block may be inserted into another block. (e.g. block 'title in block 'border' and 'border' in 'Layout')
Double click on the 'border' block in the layout to edit that block, then the title block can be selected.
Also see tutorial: Working with Layout Blocks and Viewports
Double clicking on a Block Reference to edit the associated Block is by an Application Preference.
But I would avoid Double clicking for 'Edit block reference in-place' on a block in a Layout that is in Print Preview mode ...
