I cant draw lines with direct length inputs

I cant draw lines with direct length inputs

How can i draw lines with click first and type the length and then enter?
I watched the tutorial but mine seems to not work that way.

Windows 11 and recently downloaded qcad

Hi, and welcome to the QCAD forum.

Similar topic as this Feature Suggestion by DabblingSeer.
The feature was already implemented.

It should be as simple as:
- LI and indicate a start point.
- With the focus still on the canvas type 12 and indicate the direction.
- Type 25 and indicate the direction for the second segment.
- And so on.

When the focus is on the canvas, typing in a numerical value is send to the first input field of the Options Toolbar.
Conveniently that is the Length value field for LI.

Other described methods should work too.

Ensure that the line tool is in segment mode.
A fixed length has no meaning for a ray or and endless line.


One can sometimes solve weird errors with: Resetting the QCAD Configuration
That would remove all customization you have applied in the preferences and resets all persistent stored options.
