I would like to put a deed description on a site plan I am working on.
Does anyone know how to configure for Bearing and Distance input and read out when inquiry.
Also is it possible to import ascii points ie, P, N, E, Z, D (point #, northing, easting, elevation, description) for example

First, in the dimensions settings it has the option for surveyors units, but I have yet figured out how to get to display for example when in info>distance point to point, it appears no matter how it is set, "0" is horizontal or east and angles are calculated counter clockwise from that baseline ie "8", that noted:

In other programs I am familiar with, for surveyor units display it is either azimuth or bearing with north up the screen and 90 degrees being level, due east or N 90 E, south would be 180, down the page or S 0 E, west 270 or N90W or level and 0 or N0E for straight up the screen, of course this is because I am north of the equator in the US.

As to entry, most have options for bearing/angle NE or "1" for NE and then 45 ie 1, 45 or 1-45 for deflection angle left 5, right 6, and azimuth 7 with SE or "2" for southeast, SW or "3" for southwest and NW or "4" for northwest, example

N45E>enter, 100, bearing
2>enter, indicates southeast
45, 100 or S45E, 100
7>enter, azimuth
225, 100
N45 W>enter, 100, bearing back to beginning for a 100 foot square titled at a 45 degree angle to screen

I can confirm that this is not supported by QCAD.

However, QCAD supports angle input in the following format:

N or N0E (= 90 degrees or 'up')
E or N90E (= 0 degrees or 'right')
S or S0E (= 270 degrees or 'down')
W or N90W (= 180 degrees or 'left')

N10W (=100 degrees)
N1d30'W or N1°30'W (=91.5 degrees)
N60E (=30 degrees)
S30W (=240 degrees)
etc.
