Linestyle Difference Between Drawing and Print
I am using Professional Version 3.18.0 on Win 10 system. I have drawn some objects using dashed lines (I had to scale the lines to 240 due to drawing dimensions). But when I attempt to print, the lines show up as solid lines. I would like the prints to be same as the drawing. Any suggestions? Screenshots are attached. Thanks.

Hi alcpe,
please attache the drawing or at least an example drawing to see what is going on. Thanks.alcpe wrote:I would like the prints to be same as the drawing. Any suggestions? Screenshots are attached. Thanks.

Re: Linestyle Difference Between Drawing and Print
I'm beginning to get an idea of what is going on. In my drawing, I set the Linetype Scale (in Property Editor) to 240, which makes the lines show up as dashed in the drawing (see attachment to my previous post). You can also see from the drawing ruler that some of those lines are >250 ft. long. To print the drawing on 17" x 11" paper, the print has to be scaled 1:480.
I edited one of the dashed lines in the drawing's Property Editor for Linetype Scale = 1. That made the dashed line look correct (dashed) on the print but now the line appears solid on the drawing.
Due to the "size" of the drawing (680 ft. x 440 ft.), maybe I can't have the "best of both worlds" (dashed lines on the drawing and dashed lines on the print).
Thanks for your help.

Re: Linestyle Difference Between Drawing and Print
Ok, you are already on the right track ...
May I ask you to play a little bit more? Set for testing the Line scale to 1. Make sure that your Measurement System (for line types and hatch patterns) is correct (Metric or Imperial) and use the switch "Screen-based Linetypes" (Menu/View) to see what happens when you turn it on or off.

I'm not sure about that! Maybe this test will change your mind ....alcpe wrote:... maybe I can't have the "best of both worlds" (dashed lines on the drawing and dashed lines on the print).

Re: Linestyle Difference Between Drawing and Print
Wow!! Turning on the "Screen-based Linetypes" did the trick!! Thank you.
I noticed the "Screen-based Linetypes" button on the View menu...very convenient. So, I see 2 additional buttons on the View menu: "Anti-aliasing" and "Draft Mode." I turned them on and off but I don't understand what they are doing. Would you please give me a brief description of their function?
Thanks!

Great. Thank you. I guess I need to update my user's manual. The references you posted are not in my electronic manual (copyright 2008-2016).
Re: Linestyle Difference Between Drawing and Print
Hello
I am resurrecting this thread as I got the same problem but where the above solution does not work.
I am using the 'Batting' linestyle, which exhibits the same problem as described above with different scales shown in screen and print views.
Enabling "Screen-based linetypes" converts the "batts" into a dash-dotted line in both views.
How can this linestyle be shown at the same scale in screen and print view ?
(Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, QCAD Pro 3.26.4)

Please attache the dxf/dwg drawing or an example drawing which shows the same issue. Thanks.
