Hi all,
I am currently using QCAD Professional 3.17.3, and I am making extensive use of custom object properties and also custom layer properties. I am able to view and edit the custom object properties very easily and naturally (it's a great feature), but so far I have been unable to find a similar UI to view and edit the custom layer properties that I have created (in a DXF orginally generated by an application I wrote outside of QCAD entirely).
The custom layer properties are present in the DXF and usable by my application, but I can't seem to find how to edit them within QCAD, like I can with the custom object properties.
Am I missing something, or is there a plugin that I need to use to edit custom layer properties? Perhaps there is something for this in the latest release of the software?
I am using QCAD Pro 3.17.3 on both Linux and Windows.
Many thanks for your assistance.
Kind regards,
David

Re: Viewing and Editing Custom Layer Properties
1. Check that you have this setting enabled:
Edit > Application Preferences > Widgets > Property Editor > Display properties of current block and current layer
2. Use the property editor to view and edit properties of the current layer / block: This feature was introduced in QCAD 3.13.0:

Edit > Application Preferences > Widgets > Property Editor > Display properties of current block and current layer

Re: Viewing and Editing Custom Layer Properties
Many thanks, Andrew! That's got it working now. Excellent. I never thought of looking in the preferences for that!
Thank you again.
