Hello,
I am trying to use qcad to make photo etch plates to etch brass models.
I am doing what Adrian Cherry does in his qcad tutorials that are on YouTube with the exception that I will print and make the photoplate myself and do the etching myself.
This is a first time effort with etching and qcad and inkscape.
I understand that I must print from a vector file to get the accuracy that I need.
Getting from a completed project in qcad that is saved in .dxf format, how to I print something that is in a vector format?
Can I do that directly from qcad? If so, how?
My project is scaled 1:1 . I want to print 1:87.
Must I use something like inkscape? If so, can anyone help me with the process of getting from qcad to inkscape?
It would be great if someone could take me through the whole qcad to inkscape to final print process.
Thank you for any help, hints, tips, guidance, "how tos" or whatever.

Re: Printing Vector File
Hello Gary - welcome to the QCAD Forum.
A dxf is a Vector file and that is printable directly out of QCAD. You can print it on paper, foil etc - but that depends on your printer. You are also able to save it in different formats like pdf's or svg's.
If that is what you are looking for then you don't need Inkscape.
When your drawing is in 1:1 (what is just perfect) then you can scale it down to e.g. 1:87 during the Print dialog. Piece of cake ...
