QCAD Prof import

Post by MikeUK » Fri Jan 26, 2018 12:57 pm

Hi, just getting to grips with QCAD and I'm having difficulty in importing. I have a few architectural objects that I want to use frequently and they reside in pages. When I try to import I get a message in 'cannot import file....'. Is there a special format I have to use for imported files?

Pages is a word processor from Apple. Pages uses its own file format which is meant to store text documents. Pages documents can be opened by the Pages application only.

QCAD is a CAD application and uses its own formats, meant for storing CAD drawings (DXF, DWG). It is not possible to open a Pages document in QCAD. To import data into QCAD it has to be in either the DXF or DWG format. Bitmaps (BMP, PNG, JPEG, etc.) can be inserted as well. SVG files can be imported with some limitations.
