Is it possible to create a hatch "linked" to a polyline?

Post by dfriasb » Wed Feb 14, 2018 12:06 pm

Hello all,

I can see a hatch property which is "From Entity" (Yes/No) in Property Editor widget, as it's shown in attached image file.

I know how to create a hatch from selection (polyline), but I don't know how to "link" this hatch to polyline so when it changes it also changes the hatch. I don't know if this is even possible. Any help?

Best regards, David.

Hello David,

That works not only on a Polyline - all other entities will work on the same way.

No - that isn't possible in the current QCAD version. BUT ...

Note: A hatch is built by using the shape of an selected contour. After that - it is autarch and not connected to the previously used contour.

You can manipulate the shape or the hatch by doing a selection and use the blue reference points to change the shape.

If you select the hatch and the perimeter together then you will see the same blue reference point - but now they are overlapping. You can't see that - you need to know that.

Now you are able to manipulate the shape and hatch together - move the overlapping blue reference points in one strike.

Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.
