Greetings from Her Majesty’s Penal Settlement of NSW Australia Down Under,
If I draw a horizontal line intersecting with a vertical line, the trim works perfectly. If I draw two horizontal lines inter-sectioning two vertical lines, Trim works perfectly for the first trim, but future trims return the message: “The two entities don't intersect, or are currently not supported for trimming.” I have QCAD Pro and am using Windows 10 with 64 bit.
What have I not understood, not observed, or how can I proceed with deleting the internal lines please?

Tim,

It could be the fact that the first referenced line is persistent.
To step back you need to use 'Back' = R mouse button and indicate the next referencing line for limiting.

without knowing what you exactly did or like to archive I don't see a way to answer efficiently this question. Yes, there are only 4 lines but there are a lot of variation how to use RM on them ...

One example ...
If you launch RM, your Limiting Entity is Line 1 and trims again line 2 and line 3 - everything works as expected. But ...
if you launch RM, your Limiting Entity is Line 1 and trims again line 4 - a warning is triggered what informs you: The two entities don't intersect, or are currently not supported for trimming. (what is logical)


Please elaborate the issue a bit more in detail. Thanks.

The "Break out Segment Tool" (D2) will do that. Launch the tool, click on line 1 between lines 2 and 3 ...

You have probably already figured out with more certainty now how the trim tool works, but it will remove the entirety of a line beyond the limiting entity, even if the portion past the limiting entity is intersected by other lines or shapes. The break out segment tool Husky mentioned is perfect for getting rid of (or just splitting up) all those “in-betweeners”
