# and/or ~ files

Post by flytyer96 » Fri Jan 02, 2026 6:09 pm

I am using Windows 10 & 11. My QCAD ver. is 3.32.5.0 (3.32.5).

What is the purpose of # and/or ~ files ?

Example: #Playboy Sr pylon outer.dxf~

QCAD autosave files have a ~ in front of the file name, e.g. "~myfile.dxf".

Neither # in front nor ~ after the extension are used by QCAD, so these must have a different origin.
