nothing happens when I hit the F8 key or select from the view menu

Hi,
The information near your cursor is only displayed when indicating positions.

Try it out with drawing a line from two points (LI).
Indicate a first point and hover away, you will see a preview of the line but wait with indicating a second point.
Keep on hovering and hit the F8 key a few times.

That toggles the displayed information between: Nothing - Relative Polar - Distance - Direction - Nothing - ... and so on .

I am doing what you say, but nothing is displaying. It has worked in the past. I don't know which version as I do keep updating.

I just discovered that is only works if you have a snap mode selected. Does nothing if snap free is selected.

Should work just the same for any snap mode.

Tested it in 3.30 and I can confirm that it only displays when snapped.
This could be regarded as a bug.
