Windows 11 3.32 and older, I upgraded hoping to solve the issue, but that didn't work.
Seems like no matter what combinations of RZ, the RZ lock and a follow up DO command I try the RZ simply does not take. The DO ordinates always refer to a random location and not the drawing global origin. RZ also does not seem to work for other usage either. Is there something I am missing?
Why am I unable to get RZ set relative zero working?

Re: Why am I unable to get RZ set relative zero working?
Hi, And welcome to the QCAD forum.
RZ sets or alters the current relative zero position to the indicated point or coordinate entry.
But it doesn't lock the relative zero position, RL does.
The relative zero position is dynamically adapted, typically it is the last specified coordinate.
This QCAD feature for relative coordinates is not directly related to DO.
For the origin of ordinate dimensions see the button on the Option Toolbar to set the origin when DO is the active tool.
Not at all random because the location is also listed in the Option Toolbar.
Also refer to this reference for creating ordinate dimensions.

Hi,
It is not your brain that failed entirely, it is your visual cortex that didn't interpreted the tool options.
The QCAD Options Toolbar is one of the things you should always keep an eye on.
Hovering over things (widgets) with the cursor may display the associated tooltip, if any.
With the status bar visible, QCAD guides you through the tool sequence displaying mouse button tips.
If considered as solved, please add [SOLVED] to the title of your initial post by editing it.
