QCAD 3.12.6.0 Sluggish at times

Post by cmcgrath5035 » Fri Jan 29, 2016 5:18 pm

Running on openSUSE 13.2_64/KDE. Relatively fast, recent hardware. Plenty of RAM

Stalls at times, System Monitor shows 1 core fully engaged (one of 8 core, 13% of total CPU) for long periods.
Does QCAD not multi-thread?

I have been doing a lot of in and out on the dxf file - perhaps some garbage hanging around.
Any way to 'clean up' the file ?

Perhaps this is a good indicator - it takes QCAD 20-25 seconds to save and close, file is 4.7MB

This might be autosave, storing your file every 5min or so. Check your autosave settings under Edit > Application Preferences > Load/Save > Autosave

I do have autosave turned on.
I'll try spreading them out to diagnose.

File is large because of embedded graphic.
Is 4.7MB a big dxf file?

Hi cmcgrath5035

How about trying 'Draftmode', might make a difference here?
