No Connection to Server - alternative options

Hi
I'm running Windows 11 and QCAD version 3.23.8.0 and am getting the "No connection to server or file not found. Please try again later." message.
I assumed this was a firewall issue but reading other posts it seems the server has to know about my version before I can upgrade.
The one question that comes to mind is whether I can just download the latest version on top of the existing one or whether that is going to break things?
Many thanks
Stuart

I assume this is the message you are getting when checking for updates?
There was never a 3.23.8.0 version, so that's probably a typo. Otherwise we could look into that.

Yes, you can always update, independent of the above error. The error above simply means that QCAD cannot check if there is an update available for your version. Either this version is not known by the server or there is no Internet connection or QCAD is not allowed to use the Internet connection.

My bad. my version is 3.27.8
Thanks for this. I will try installing the new version on top of the old one
