First, find out if you are installing the correct package:

- Open the Terminal application
- Enter the following command and hit Enter:
uname -m
- If the output is "x86_64", you are running a 64bit Linux system. Otherwise, you are running a 32bit Linux system.

Please make sure that you download the correct QCAD package for your 32bit or 64bit Linux system.

To install the downloaded installer, please follow our detailed installation instructions for Ubuntu at:
http://www.qcad.org/component/content/a ... ion-ubuntu

If after the installation, the desktop icon cannot be used to launch the application, please proceed as follows:
- Open the Terminal application
- Navigate to the QCAD installation folder:
cd ~/opt/qcad-*-linux-*
- Post the output of the following command:
ldd ./qcad-bin
- Post the output of the following command:
./qcad
