[solved] QCADCAM 3.25.2-64 will not finish opening after install

Post by mqbeers911 » Sun Sep 27, 2020 8:14 pm

Got a new computer and the first one with Linux. Computer had trial version on QCADCAM on it and I liked it so purchased the latest version in the store - QCADCAM 3.25.2_64. My system is running Ubuntu 18.04 and I know it is 64 bit.
After installing the .run file (Check file run as program, launch the .run file, followed the instructions in Terminal.) Everything seemed to go well with the install but when I click on the program to start it it gets to 99% and just hangs there. I can close it and it does not hang up the computer but will not load. Message at the lower left is:

Initializing add-ons: 99%
Report Bug

Any help out there for this? I assumed that since the Trial version ran flawlessly that the production version should do the same and that the required system libraries are there. Since I do not know what system libraries are needed, and there is no help for this in the install/troubleshooting section on the website, I would appreciate some help.

Please remove the file plugins/libqcadgles3d.so

It seems to be an incompatibility with the newer version of Qt this package uses and the OpenGL setup of some Linux distributions.

I've had similar issues on Fedora 32. Removing the plugin worked for me too.

Here's the output of the console with the plugin:

Code: Select all
