[solved] qcad on opensuse 15.2

Post by cmcgrath5035 » Thu May 27, 2021 6:16 pm

I have been running qcadcam-3.25.2-pro-linux-qt5.14-x86_64
Installed via tar.gz unpack
It unpacked with 97 items in the directory

Just downloaded qcadcam-3.26.2-pro-linux-qt5.14-x86_64
unpacked the new tar, it reports 1416 items,,
Is this tar built correctly?

Attempts to run qcad startup script yields
QCAD version 3.26.2
Warning: Could not find the Qt platform plugin "xcb" in ""
Fatal: This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

./qcad: line 11: 27572 Aborted (core dumped) QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=1 LD_LIBRARY_PATH="$DIR" "$binary" "$@"

My system is currently reporting

Plasma 5.21.5
QT version 5.15.2
Running X11

The package qcadcam-3.26.2-pro-linux-qt5.14-x86_64 extracts and works fine here on a fresh install of OpenSuse 15.2 with Plasma. The tar.gz contains 1783 files and directories.

The package qcadcam-3.26.2-pro-linux-x86_64 also works fine on that system.

The platform plugin xcb should be installed under qcadcam-3.26.2-pro-linux-qt5.14-x86_64/platforms/libqxcb.so.

QCAD ships with all necessary Qt libraries, so your system Qt version should not play any role at all.

Agreed.
I removed the extracted directory, reran Arc and now have a properly extracted directory qcadcam-3.26.2-pro-linux-qt5.14-x86_64
The dolphin file manager shows the extracted directory as having 99 items
The detailed display of directory properties shows
Size 391.8MB
1,659 files 124 sub-folders

Thanks

Excellent, thanks for confirming. Could be that the first extraction didn't extract the folder structure.
