Rounded Text

Post by jocpo » Wed May 13, 2009 12:05 pm

Found a version 1.4.8 of QCAD user manual and noticed a completely different Text Window from ver. 2.2.2. This version allows for text spacing and rounded text.
I have a need for this feature. I was able to do it but with much manipulation and hit or miss placements-very time consuming.

Question-Is it possible to load this old Text window for MAC OSX? Or get copy of ver. 1.4.8 download for OSX Tiger or Leopard?

No, QCAD 1 was never available for Mac OS.

Rounded texts are no longer supported to keep DXF files compatible with other applications.

Depending on your exact needs, you might want to use Inkscape to create such and other more artistic content. Inkscape can export DXF files which can be loaded by QCAD.

Thanks for the prompt rely. That feature would be very helpful to me but I understand that it may be a lesser needed feature for CAD. I'll look into the ref. you cited.

Thank you
