How to use the keyboard to change the selected/highlighted layer in the layers list?

Post by bob93 » Wed Dec 25, 2024 10:07 am

I know there's keyboard shortcuts to toggle a layer visibility, to toggle all layers visibility, to select a layer's elements, to delete a layer and so on.
But I can't seem to find a way to change the selected/highlighted layer in the layers list with the keyboard. Something like a "sekect next/previous layer" command
Another related question is, is there any other way to change the selected layer without using the layer list box?
Thanks

Not that I know of without a dedicated custom tool.
I once proposed a method to sync the current layer with a unique selection but that was not adapted for standard releases.
The custom shortcut is YJ and it still works as a charm ...
Dug deep, at least 2 years back ... Ah, here is the Related topic.

The draw back for you would be that selecting is pointing and clicking.

If you really prefer to type everything instead of merely pointing and clicking ...
You could open the Script Shell (GE) and change the current layer by a few lines of code.
