Andrew,
I searched for the 'rcc utility that comes with every Qt installation' mentioned in the Tutorial: Creating an RCC Plugin
And it seems that this is not present on my system.
Figuring that I am an end user and do not have Qt installed by installing QCAD with an msi or from a ZIP file.
I then investigated installing Qt ... But that is not free of charge in all cases.
Not going to pay 4110€ annually to pack some QCAD JS scripts and related in an RCC bundle but I see the potential.
Closest I get is Qt6 .. Education & Community .. Development Tools .. Qt Community Edition
Is that a suitable 'Qt installation' as referred to in the tutorial?
Does this Qt6 installation not interferes with Qt 5.13.2 used by QCAD?
Any advice is appreciated.
Bottom line, having Qt installed is taken for granted.
Kinda similar as Qt Designer referred to in several places in the open source content on GitHub.
The reference in for example LibraryBrowserScripts.dox is totally outdated.
You are not alone, there are many sites that still link to qt.nokia.com found online.
I installed this as a stand alone application (31Mb vs many Gbs) from a different source (Michael Herrmann).
But not everything QCAD related is included what is logical.
Regards,
CVH
