new user...silly question

Post by msglover » Wed Jul 28, 2010 9:38 pm

If I want to create a drawing of my house, how would I go about setting the scale in the A4 template? I tried using different options, but if I draw a rectangle with a 2 inch side and dimension it, the measurement prints out as 2 inches. How do I get that to convert to feet? I have zero CAD/drafting experience, so I hope I am clear in what I want to do, but I'm probably not. I'm a noob so simple examples work best.

Thanks!

Once you have set the paper size and units in the drawing preference dialog, you have to use that unit to draw. Therefore, in your example, 2" should be entered / drawn as 0.1666(ft).

Once you are ready to print you will need to adjust the scale in the print dialog so that the drawing (or portion of drawing) fits the paper.

I hope this helps....
