Wipeout not saving to file [ affects rectangular wipeouts only ]

Post by John Hyslop » Thu Sep 19, 2024 3:07 am

Hi Andrew

Just testing some of the new features, nice to see this implemented but I cannot save the wipeout in the dxf file?
Here is a screenshot of the error and a test dxf file too..

Using "qcadcam-3.31.0-pro-linux-qt5.14-x86_64"
OS Linux Mint 21.3 x86_64

Cheers
John

John,
Wipeout's pop up as new feature for ACAD 2022.
Perhaps it is simply the used dxf format R24 (2010).

CVH

This is the highest format..it still doesn't save
Please explain what you mean?
For compatibility reasons I always use R24(2010) that suites my current customer base :)

wipeout used but not saved when reopening?

Your first attempt was R24, your second is R32 ...

Didn't had the time to install 3.31.0.0 yet but I took the time to do that and verify.

I can now acknowledge that Wipeout entities are not saved in any dxf format using QCAD 3.31.0 / Qt 5.13.2 / Windows i386 32bit
No related exception is displayed using dxflib but even then they are not saved.

Regards,
CVH

I'm assuming the wipeout entities should be saved, but I may be wrong? :?

And FYI the WIPEOUT command was introduced in AutoCAD Release 13, which was released in 1994. e_surprised

This appears to be an OpenDesign bug that affects rectangular wipeouts. As a workaround, you can create a wipeout with a polygon or from a (rectangular) polyline instead.

QCAD 3.31.0 / Qt 5.13.2 / Windows i386 32bit
Polygon works

Thanks Andrew,
