As far as I can see QCad Pro consists of QCad community edition plus a series of Plugins for additional featuares like DWG support, polylines and viewports.
Is this correct? If so, does this mean that after the licence period it is possible to upgrade the underlying community edition to get access to new features while maintaining access to the pro features via the plugins or would doing so revert to just the community edition?
Or, to put it another way, once the first year is up is it a choice of either keeping the pro features or getting new community edition features?
Thanks,
Andrew

Re: Pro edition and new community edition features
Hi,
A QCAD Pro license is personal and perpetual.
Please refer to FAQ: It is the access to your personal download area with further new updates that expires after one year.

CVH

Re: Pro edition and new community edition features
Sorry. I did wonder after I had hit submit whether I had been clear enough about what I was asking.
To be more specifc:
A user using the community edition can get access to new features added to the community edition at any time without cost.
A user using the Pro edition can continue to use the Pro features (but not update them) after the initial one year period.
But can the Pro user get access to new community edition features without either (i) losing access to the Pro features or (ii) renewing the Pro licence?
Thanks,
Andrew

Re: Pro edition and new community edition features
No, not really, it is OR.
Or you install QCAD Pro trial and convert that to QCAD CE.
Or you pay for a licence and download QCAD Pro from your personal download area.
This version of QCAD Pro can be used 'As Is' indefinitely by you.
In detail:
As long as updates to the CE part are only ECMAScript based then one could overrule the compiled script versions included under QCAD pro.
From the moment an update involves changes to the C++ code one can not easily include those newer parts.
Specific ECMAScript and C++ code of QCAD Pro is proprietary and not public, you use those under your licence.
